Within WP2 of the WARRIOR project, Ukrainian partners conducted a focus group with youth workers focusing on fake news related to the war in Ukraine and other critical national issues. Participants reported strong emotional reactions such as fear, anger, sadness, and distrust, often linked to personal safety and identity. Fake news was initially believed because it touched deep values like life, belonging, and the future of children. Verification through official sources, competent professionals, and cross-checking proved essential. Once misinformation was exposed, participants experienced relief, renewed hope, and a broader perspective on events.
