As part of WP2 of the WARRIOR project, Erasmus ME Academy organised a focus group with youth workers to analyse real cases of misleading and fake news across different professional sectors. Participants discussed environmental, media, education, and sports-related misinformation that initially appeared credible. Emotional reactions often preceded rational analysis, influenced by trust in sources, professional networks, and prior beliefs. Verification through authoritative sources, critical thinking, and professional experience proved decisive. The session reinforced the need for structured media literacy training for youth workers.
